Unrun & leads

Beta for when you’re feeling adventurous: three leads with little or no published whitewater beta, and five tributaries with no documented descent in any language. Grades for the unrun ones are inferred from gradient only. On the Map they’re hidden until you tick Unrun & leads.

Permits are the first question for all of these: several sit close to the Line of Actual Control, where a PAP may simply be refused. Ask the fixer before planning around any of them.

Gradient guide (from the workbook): under 30 ft/mi big-volume read-and-run · 30–75 moderate to steep · 75–150 steep creek (IV–V, drops and portages) · over 150 expect unrunnable or waterfall terrain. Water: the high Dibang-fork and Mechuka tributaries are snow-fed and high; expect them colder than the main rivers, likely under 10 °C (50 °F). No measurements exist.
